From the recording Celtic Tales

Lyrics

Niamh agreed to let Oisin
Return to Ireland
She gave him her horse
Embarr so white
Magical and swift,
Embarr would be his flight
Across the Silver Sea

But Niamh begged him please, don't let your feet touch the ground
For if you do,
You will never ever return again
to Tír Na nÓg
Never be found

Verse 2:
Oisin rode back home,
His heart filled with hope, yet also with some unknown
For when he arrived, everything had changed
The Fianna were gone, his land was strange

Chorus:
But Niamh begged him please, don't let your feet touch the ground
For if you do, you'll never return again
to Tír Na nÓg,
Never to be found

As Oisin rode closer to home, things didn't seem right
The Fianna were gone, None were alive
He couldn’t believe his eyes
Everything had changed
Ah Oh, His Land was strange

Chorus:
Niamh begged him please, don't let your feet touch the ground
For if you do, you'll never return again
to Tír Na nÓg,
Never to be found

Nothing but moss
And broken stone
When he found his home
It was a different time

He came across some men, struggling with a stone
Then Oisin heard a voice cry
'Help me to move this giant boulder free!'
Oisin reached down
To help and fell
In an instant, when his feet touch the ground
He aged 300 years in one second sound

Oisín now old, and his vision gone
He Realized the truth, it had all been undone
His father and friends, have ong gone in time
Leaving Oisín to reflect, on this bitter rhyme.
